They automatically analyze the headers of the spams, discard any fake information, and will report spammers automatically to their REAL email and Web-space providers. Well designed email programs do not display these vulnerabilities. Unfortunately, commercial success is not related to good design... Virus scanners (please see above) can offer good protection against email viruses by scanning each incoming mail, but will never protect against 100% of all attacks, since it is impossible to know and detect each and every possible type of virus. Therefore, even when you have a real-time virus scanner, it is wise to get some information on the vulnerabilities and strengths of your email program. | Ken's Spam Filter | Free spam filter program which sits in between your normal mail program and the outside world. The program has two lists, a list of email addresses from whom it will accept mail, and a list of email addresses that it will reject mail from. When a message arrives from an unknown user the message is held and a reply generated and sent back to the sender asking them to reply back with a subject line that contains a keyword, this keyword is the letters KSF followed by a short serial number. If they reply back, all future messages from that person will pass through the filter, and all presently held messages from that email address will be released.
